A man arrested for plotting an attack at the Texas State Capitol is now facing federal charges. This comes after the Texas Department of Public Safety searched Benny Caldera. This Texas man will be facing federal charges in connection with a full attack on the Federal State Capitol building. Authorities were alerted by a friend of Caldera who said he had told him he was going to the Capitol to shoot it up. A Bexar County man arrested for plotting an attack at the Texas State Capitol building is now facing federal charges. This comes after the Department of Public Safety searched Benny Caldera Jr.'s Converse area home. This is the timeline of events. Court documents stated the attack was supposed to happen Thursday, but it was stopped by the Department of Public Safety and the FBI. Based on a tip from a citizen, a warning from someone who knew Caldera, set this investigation into motion. That person alerted law enforcement to what investigators said was a planned attack on the Texas state capitol. The criminal complaint, said Caldera, told a friend on Tuesday, I was going to the Capitol and I'm going to shoot it up, he said. He was angry at the American-Israeli Public Affairs Committee, also known as AIPAC, the largest political action committee in the world. He said that these people have to be exterminated. FYI, 9 out of 10 Democrats and Republicans take donations from this political action committee. The Texas Department of Public Safety said its criminal investigation division worked through the night with the FBI and local law enforcement and SWAT, who eventually arrested Caldera early Wednesday morning at his home in Converse near San Antonio. The Texas Department of Public Safety said that when they searched Caldera's home, they found a loaded shotgun and a loaded revolver with a serial number filed off, which of course is a federal offense. 10 to 20 for just that.
