In this video I am doing one more large swipe and spin on a 20 inch wood circle! I am using some of my favorite colors in this one; Australian Sienna, Magenta and Purple. For some reason I just love how these colors blend together. I really like how The lighter Sienna peaks through in some areas and the purple surrounds it in cells! The white cell activator works wonderfully for these colors. The overall piece is fantastic and filled with cells and I can't wait to get some resin on it!
All right, so my first one that I did,
spinning on my modified little cake stand,
worked pretty well.
So I'm going to try a second one.
I'll link the video below for the first one
so that you can see how that one turned out.
I kept quite a bit of negative space on it
and it looked really nice with purple, turquoise,
and magenta.
In this one, I'm going to use another color palette
that I really like,
which is purple, Australian sienna, and magenta.
The Australian Sienna almost turns yellow
when it's really stretched out
and it looks really,
really nice with the purple.
So I'm gonna show you a little more up close this time
what my colors look like.
I have a lighter magenta
and you don't wanna focus.
No, you don't wanna focus.
I have my Australian Sienna,
it's a really pretty color
and I have my darker purple.
I think this one is purple matter.
So I'm working in my garage, but it is really hot outside.
It's like 95 degrees right now.
So I'm not letting everything dry out here
because I don't know how evenly it's going to dry
with the temperature that it's at.
So I'm just doing my work out here
and then I'm bringing it back inside,
but I will take pictures once everything is all dry.
For my swiping color, I'm just going to use white
on this one.
And then I also have my base paint mixed up.
I ran out of my larger cups that I use to mix this,
so I put it in an old GAC 800 bottle and it worked out quite nicely.
There's my house paint and then some GAC 800 in here.
With my last one, I almost feel like I didn't put enough paint down
so that it would move well while it was spinning.
So I'm adding more this time.
Hopefully I'll spin enough off that it will be even
and dry okay, but we will see.
so I just have my white
for my swiping color
and then some paper
and my spatula
for swiping last
one I try to keep some negative space this one
um I'm just going to add more color I like all
these colors together
so I think they'll look
really nice and next
time I do this I may try
and bring my hair dryer out and see if I can do the blow
and spin I really like the way that that
turns out. I just wanted to try swiping this time.
I figured it would be a little bit easier for my
first time on something
spinning something this large.
So I'm just going to dip my spatula white
and we'll swipe in a couple
of different directions here.
Oh that is just gorgeous. I love the way
these colors look together
and I'm just cleaning my spatula on my pants. These are my painting
clothes, so I'm not too worried about keeping them looking nice.
We're going to go through
the middle,
and I'll swipe one
more time to get
that area celled up,
and I'm going to
swipe in my other direction.
I'm going to swipe in this direction this time.
Okay,
so a little
bit more,
and swipe
one more
time.
Let's do it
this way.
Let's get
that. I'm
gonna let this sit for a minute
so that the cells will come up over there and then I will spin but
already just the just the way
that these colors all blend together I really really like this so
if any more over
here I think
that'll be good
so let's see I want
to make sure
that everything
moves so I'm just going to drop a little bit of paint along the edges
and then if I need to I
will tilt after spinning
to just kind of fill in anywhere.
A lot of paint on here. We will spin
some of this off
and see what it looks like.
Which way?
That looks really pretty.
Okay so now I'm
going to spin the
other way one time.
Oh that is really
really nice. So I'm
not a big fan of these
huge white spots here so I'm gonna tilt a little bit.
Oh I'm probably gonna tilt most of this off
just to try and get some of that white off
and pull out these cells but this looks pretty amazing
let's peel this off
and we'll tilt a little bit
and I think we'll be good
to go not too yep okay
so you can see when I tilt there it
goes since this paint is so thick
sometimes it doesn't want
to move extremely well
but I like the way that that looks getting that white off I should have
put another canvas down underneath. I did not.
I should have. That will be next time, but there we
go. Okay, so look at that. I don't want to keep on.
Do I want to keep on tilting? Tilt a little
bit more. Okay, so amazing cells
all throughout this piece.
I'm going to tilt back just a little
bit. The spinning and the swiping all together makes
a really pretty pattern, so I've been
enjoying the Shelley art recipe and technique
so i'll try and mix it up a little bit and i'll do
every single video like that but i hope you guys enjoyed i will take
the camera down and show you
an up close but
this one turned
out really really
nicely thank you
guys for watching
i am outside
again i just love how the sunlight looks
on these paintings this one i am just absolutely in love
it warped a little bit while it was drying
but it is now flattening out for
the most part go up here and get a full view
in so before I started painting I
never liked these colors I was never
a fan of yellow orange pink and now this
is probably one of my favorite color palettes
to work with I do want to use
these again I'll try to put a few videos in between
so that I'm not completely
overdoing it
but I have an 8 by 24 inch canvas that I want to try a swipe on in
these colors
and see what I can do what I really like I'm gonna try and move it
here so this portion of where the darker color
is going over that lighter color
and creating some really beautiful cells
and then I have the same thing down here
this is what I really really like
so overall I do like the whole piece this
is definitely going to get some resin
but I hope you guys like this technique
it's super fun next time I'm going to try my hairdryer
and then spin out a
larger one like this I think it'll be pretty awesome
but thank you guys so
much for watching I hope you enjoyed
let me know what you think down in the
