Simeon Nikolov’s FIRST Match for Lube Civitanova !!! Simeon Nikolov’s Italian SuperLega journey begins! The Bulgarian setter made his official league debut for Cucine Lube Civitanova against Rana Verona on October 17, 2026, helping his new team secure a 3–0 victory: 25–20, 25–19, 28–26.

At just 19 years old, Simeon “Moni” Nikolov stepped into one of the world’s strongest volleyball leagues and opened his Lube career with a straight-sets win. He finished with 5 points, while his older brother Aleksandar Nikolov led Civitanova with 19 points. The Nikolov brothers sharing the court added another exciting chapter to this new era for Lube.

After taking the opening two sets, Civitanova faced a tighter battle in the third. Verona pushed the set beyond 25 points, but Lube closed it out 28–26 to complete the sweep and start the 2026/27 SuperLega season with three valuable points.

Known for his creative setting, imposing presence at the net and willingness to attack the second ball, Simeon brings an exciting dimension to the setter position. His move to Italian volleyball presents a new challenge: directing Lube’s offense against elite blockers, experienced defenders and some of the best players in the world.
