An unthinkable euphoria has erupted within the PSOE just a few weeks ago. The socialists' mood doesn't reflect the end of eight years of government predicted by all the polls, except for the CIS (Spanish Center for Sociological Research). The collective ecstasy at the rally—which Ferraz transformed into the federal committee meeting that approved the lists for Congress and the Senate—can be summed up in one image: the kiss between Pedro Sánchez and Begoña Gómez, and two words: "I love you."

The Prime Minister has once again demonstrated his ability to turn the right-wing attacks around and make a symbol of what the PP (People's Party) and Vox believe should be his Achilles' heel. If in the 2023 campaign he transformed the insult hurled at him into the slogan "Perro Sanxe" (a derogatory term for a derogatory term for Sánchez), six weeks before November 29th he has fully embraced his wife as an electoral asset.
