Mta means mountain. It is a very ancient dance which is very popular among Georgian folk dances because it conveys a cascade of complex, rich and diverse movements of the people living in the mountains. This dance combines well the beauty of a woman and the heroic spirit of a man. In the dances of the mountain people we can find both separate performance of men, as well as dances performed by men and women together.
