(563) Unique Open Cup Pour with CELLS! Fluid Art Technique

Today we're trying out the open cup fluid art technique! I am in LOVE with this acrylic painting technique as it helps create such beautiful cells!

The process:

For this piece, I am working on a split color background. I mixed my black and white base paints with a drop of Silicone oil (this will help form cells). I then started with the open cup pour. I tried something different and went with an earthy color palette. I mixed my beige, yellow, burnt sienna, and brown with some Floetrol and water.

Once the open cup technique was done I slightly tilted the canvas and finished by lightly torching the painting.

I am very pleased with how this turned out. A good reminder to always try new things!!
