Now I would like to introduce
a fabulous romance author where I'm pretty sure you have seen so
many of her books on Bookstagram, BookTok,
and in the store, Peyton Corrine. Peyton, how are you?
I am so good. How are you? I'm great.
So you are the mastermind behind the very popular and famous
Undone series. But before we kind of take a look into those stories,
tell us a little bit about
who you are, where you're from,
and what really sparked your interest into becoming an author?
I have, well, I'm going to work backwards, honestly.
So my name is Peyton and I'm an author of very angsty romances,
but I've been telling stories probably since before I could write,
like, you know, before I could read.
I was like looking at picture books and telling everybody
in my family what was happening in the story without actually knowing.
So I think I like to think of myself as a permanent storyteller.
It just took me a while to find exactly what I wanted to do with that.
And books have always been important to me in that way.
So, yeah, I'm from Florida.
I'm originally from Alabama.
I went to Auburn University,
got a degree in writing and public relations.
I was a teacher for a little while.
I've kind of tried different careers out like ice cream flavors
until I settled on this perfect, perfect job that I love so much.
um my first book came out indie
and kind of skyrocketed me to where I am now thanks to
TikTok and Instagram and all my lovely readers
who've been along with me for the last three
years so it's it's been like a real journey I'm thrilled yeah
and I love that we have similar
stories because I used to take picture books
before I really learned words and I would tell
stories and my parents like that's
not what's happening I'm like well in my brain that's
what's happening so we're just gonna roll
with the punches you know exactly exactly yeah and so
what made you want to do romance out of all
the many genres that we have when it comes to literature
oh I just well I love romance I will read
or watch anything if there is like a hint of romance like
I love the John Wick movies
but I'm obsessed with the way that this man loves his wife and she's
barely a character i like i will grasp
on to any any little bit of romance i was a hardcore shipper
back in the day you know anything i watched i wanted two people
to get together um but it's
just always been innate in me everything i've written even
when i was a kid was very like
princess story telling love and then playing Barbies
and having it be a romance and you know
the My Scene movies if anybody knows
that lore drop um that was my dream like i've always
loved love i do think love in general
and romance is such an innate human emotion that it's something
no matter the genre everyone can relate
to so i just i i think even if i were to branch to
different sub genres i'll always be like a romance person tried
and true yeah and i feel like romance
is so broad because you could have like a thriller story
that's still romance or how you mentioned
like John Wick like he did all this because his wife
that died gifted him a puppy and they killed
the puppy and he just like went
on that's true yearning right there exactly they need to bring
that back in this generation bring back the yearning
and so on the topic of romance you have
a very like i said a very popular series that is the Undone series
and so tell viewers if they're
not familiar with it what's involved in these three books yeah okay
so the Undone series is a
series of books about this particular hockey team at a college
so they're college romances they're
all like 21 22 some of the stories span
a lot longer they're interconnected standalone so you
can read them individually
but i do suggest that you read them in order for the most emotional
impact because all of the characters are kind
of woven into each other's lives the first two books
Unsteady and Unloved take place at the same time.
The first one has a lot to do with caretaking of
younger siblings and anxiety and PTSD and things like that.
The second book, Unloved, deals with
grief and friendship and a really, really sweet,
gentle, slow burn of friends to lovers. And then
the last two books take place at the same time,
but separately from the first two. The first two
are the fall semester and the second two are the spring
so you kind of you kind of live their last
year of college together with this group of five
or so individuals and you kind of get to see them
grow so the Unbound
is a dual timeline second chance romance takes place over three years
and then Undone which comes out October 20th
so literally Tuesday the final kind of wraps
everything up it's very found family i think it's like a perfect ending
and kind of a complete
circle to the entire series
so i'm now with this series would you like to see it adapted maybe into
a series or do you think you could kind of see
this kind of put into one big movie oh i think
i'd want a tv series but i think it could
be like two seasons the first two about the first group i
don't know i feel like it would be very One Tree Hill of like there's
so much going on and you're
kind of following everyone I think you could mash all four books
into one like long series so like
two seasons would get through the whole thing
if you really honed in it would be angsty you would
cry you would laugh you would have a good time
so I would say series over movie for sure and you
would get all the feels that us
that us romance lovers feel you know just on the big screen which
which we always love and so you have the new one
that is coming out on Tuesday what's next from you
from you on the side of this like are there going
to be more books are you going to do more
standalones and other series yeah i'm working
on something new no one really knows about it i've
been super tight-lipped but i think i i've kind
of left it at like the people who know me and who
have been following me will probably be able
to guess what i'm doing next it's a series it's a
little less standalone than this one
um it's still angsty it's still lonely people finding their
their found family their home lots
of interesting family dynamics all my favorite like things that
I think are my tried and true tropes as an author you have
the same thing again but it's a different
setting entirely completely separate from my first one
and a lot darker and I'm very excited
a little bit of John Wick in there maybe you know with the dark
perhaps I perhaps I mentioned
that on purpose yeah you know well now I'm going to be watching
like okay Peyton when's the book gonna
be coming out you know I love it yes so Peyton before I let
you go is there anything else that you would like
to say to fellow book lovers out there
um never stop finding new books uh read diversely find the right voices
and you know there's so many
books out there you I promise you will find
the right one for you um and I hope that anyone that
reads my series and picks it up feels really seen by my characters
and know that you're like always
always ready to be loved by other people.
And it, you know, I just hope you find a home in that and
in all books in general, but especially mine.
Well, Peyton, thank you so much for what you're
doing in the literary world and for taking the time to come
and chat with me and fellow book
lovers out there. We greatly appreciate it.
Of course. Thank you so much for having me.
