Chinese Traditional Story: Ancestral Virtues Will Be Remembered

The first story is about Yang Rong from the Ming Dynasty. He was born in Jianning County during the Ming Dynasty. His ancestors for three generations made a living by ferrying people across the river, earning a meager income. It was not until Yang Rong's generation that he was able to study and become an official. In those days, floods were frequent. Sometimes, the floods would destroy houses, sweep people away with the rapids, and the residents' belongings would float away in the river with the raging floodwaters.
