Commonly known as the "suede bolete" the xerocomus is a genus of poroid fungi related to Boletus. Members of this genus are often bright in color and have small to medium-sized fruit bodies with slender stipes compared with other boletes. Generally, these mushrooms aren't known for their remarkable texture or flavor, but they do make a good dried mushroom!
