This is Worse Than We Expected... Hurricanes Make Wild Move | Carolina Hurricanes Update
Oct 15, 2026
This is a lot worse than we expected.
Taylor Hall took a big hit in the first.
Did not return for the second.
Tried to come back out.
Couldn't come back out.
Went back to the locker room.
Upper body injury not good according to Rod.
Now the Hurricanes are faced with another missing forward.
Another big producer is out for the Canes.
And now a call-up has happened from the Wolves.
and he just isn't any call-up he's the number one prospect
in the system and we should kind of be
excited to see what he can do welcome

get that going i appreciate all of you by the way you know
that you know i love also we're over on

be glad you did i promise you that
there's a lot of stuff over there i like sending
stuff over there Taylor Hall's injury has just
given the hurricanes another problem it creates
an opportunity for Bradley Nadeau however with
Nadeau recalled from the Chicago Wolves this morning
the question becomes how the hurricanes
use him because hall was filling a role on a line
that always produces he's a big part of that line
um this is this was the initial concern against washington hall
was missing from the bench
leaving carolina running 11 forwards he
was subsequently ruled out with an upper body injury
moving forward in the game hall has three goals
and five points in eight games that's some pretty
serious production um that meaningful production
from a player averaging around 13 minutes a night
Carolina would be losing an offense without having
an enormous amount of ice time to redistribute
around um then there's the chemistry with Logan Stankoven
and Jackson Blake what a great line
they are uh that combination has outscored opponents three
to one at five on five while
controlling more than 60 percent of shot attempts there
was something working here which makes the
next lineup decision very very important uh
afterwards Rod Brind'Amour said that it doesn't
look good that doesn't look good either according
to Walt Ruff's post-game report over on X
he also did say it's part of the game we play
but he did admit it doesn't look good for Taylor
Hall in the immediate future what's concerning it is concerning
but it isn't a recovery timeline
Hall's upper body you know it just it hurts i guess it hurts
a lot the big upper body injury
for Taylor Hall is confirmed how long he'll miss
and what Carolina's lines look like next
uh still have no clarification they
are heading out on the fair circuit up in Canada
coming up so we'll see what happens as we head up
to Western Canada Carolina was already dealing
with Jordan Staal and Seth Jarvis being unavailable
Hall's exit adds another decision.
Does Nadeau step directly into those wing minutes,
or does Brendamore rearrange forwards that are already here?
uh the power play core matters too
Hall's even strength replacement
and the player taking his second unit work
doesn't necessarily have to be the same person
Those assignments can be shared
and Nadeau will have to earn whatever special teams opportunity comes
his way Nikolai Ehlers
is one internal option to consider alongside Stank
and Blake um that would be actually pretty
cool if you ask me uh Ehlers is a monster
and putting him out there with those two monsters
would absolutely be crushing to everybody
which is kind of what we want right now uh that's that
It is a possible adjustment to move Ehlers
in rather than an announced combination.
Moving an established winger could give Nadeau
a different starting point elsewhere in the lineup.
So there are three linked questions here.
Who gets Hall's wing minutes?
Where does Nadeau fit?
And who takes the power play shifts?
That is, you know, pretty serious stuff to consider.
um considering that you know he is he is young he
is coming in he is coming in to fill a you know
a role established by a vet um it doesn't settle
the deployment question um the recall answers
the roster question on the other hand you know
we have some we have Kokaniemi don't forget we
do have Jesperi Kokaniemi um his ability
to play center gives Carolina flexibility
Rough reported that Brenda Moore expected a forward recall
and he said it didn't have to be someone
who plays down the middle that's left room
to bring up a scoring winger Nadeau now gets the
opportunity and for me the interesting part
is whether Carolina gives him a role where his
offense strengths can help immediately
or do they kind of shuffle him into line four they'll get
playing time down there which is what he needs
so this could be very interesting and a very big
opportunity for Mr. Bradley there's a reason
his name fits the situation Nadeau has produced in
Chicago he's the man in Chicago
and Carolina now has a potential opening for the kind of
offense he brings but getting recalled
and establishing establishing yourself are two
completely different things his NHL card shows three goals
and 12 games last season that's a
starting point but 12 games can't establish what he'll produce across
a sustained opportunity
we've seen him score at this level
but now the challenge is doing enough consistently to keep
getting those chances
while Hall is out the contract graphic shows a cap hit of a roughly
918,000 he's relatively inexpensive
um an inexpensive option the bigger hockey decision
is whether his game fits the available minutes
and how much responsibility Brendan Moore is willing
to give him alongside Stankoven
and Blake the appeal would be another scoring threat but earning
that assignment means keeping up with the pace of Stankoven
and Blake which is very very fast
all the time helping the line maintain possession um it
also means being available when his line
mates create an opening uh Nadeau never shies away
from a scoring opportunity which is why he's so
good um but there have been talks that his you know
um his aggression needs a little work but
because Stank and Blake
are very aggressive players can he generate chances against NHL
defenders will he get offensive opportunities
and can he earn Brendan Moore's trust again when
Carolina doesn't have the puck those details matter
because they determine whether the next
shift comes um especially in a close game goals help
but reliable decisions can keep him involved
when the scoring doesn't come immediately
the scoring case has substance 27 goals in 52
AHL games last season including seven on the power play
those numbers justify a huge opportunity for
Bradley Nadeau I want to see him bring that confidence
into Carolina's lineup first you know find use
space um make the most of the minutes available Hall's injury
is an unfortunate development for
Nadeau, this is the chance to show how he can help
and help he should because he's a great player
and you know he's not Taylor Hall but he
is a big name in the franchise and he can pull it out
he can pull it out I promise you that everything will
be fine Caniacs everything will be fine
gonna keep winning games
while three massive forwards are out uh would you put Nadeau straight
into Hall's spot with Stankoven, Blake I wouldn't no offense to Bradley
but i wouldn't i would try
Ehlers there first or start him elsewhere
and let him earn more responsibility let me know what you
think in the comments i'm interested to see what you think
um and just in case you needed to know
we love our Chicago Wolves here on Hurricanes Digest

losing Seth Jarvis it sucks losing Jordan Staal
Staal out two months Jarvis should
be back relatively soon I heard November maybe early
December so that should be coming up quickly
and we're not sure about Taylor Hall but as long as
the winning keeps going as long as the goals keep going
