AI GeneratedBiketoberfest is kicking off in Daytona Beach, Florida, drawing approximately 100,000 visitors for a four-day celebration of motorcycle culture. The event features a mix of high-speed racing, custom bike showcases, and scenic rides, providing a significant economic boost to local businesses while requiring a heavy law enforcement presence to ensure road safety.
Welcome back. Biketoberfest officially kicks off tomorrow
and people are already rolling into town.
Yeah, the event is a staple here in central Florida, of course,
and it's not just the bikers and businesses that are ready.
Law enforcement is getting ready to go too and Fox 35's Bailey Bakover
is ready. She's live in Daytona Beach now with how
this is way more than just a bike show, right, Bailey?
That's right, Jack, and I am ready.
Some of the fun has already begun behind me.
This is Main Street where there's live music, drinks, racing, I
iconic scenic rides, not to mention this is a four-day event
with roughly 100,000 people expected
from all over.
The full-throttle lifestyle is taking over Daytona Beach.
Thousands of bikers
are pouring into town for four days of non-stop action,
from stunt shows and coastal rides to
boosting local businesses along Main Street.
We've spent a lot of money reinvesting in the
property because the event gave us that money to do so.
While Main Street cranks up the local
economy, events span all across Volusia County.
Riders are taking on scenic routes like The Loop
and charity runs like the Ormond Loop Ride for a Cause.
For many, it's all about showing off
years of hard work on two wheels.
It basically was a generic CVO when I bought it and everything
that you can see that is shiny, I put on there.
It's all customized. It's got a great sound system
and everything on it. So like I said, all we do is show off.
That's what we do. You're ready.
Yeah, I'm ready.
Over at Daytona International Speedway,
the fall cycle scene is bringing high-speed American superbike racing.
And when the sun goes down,
the party keeps rolling late into the night.
After midnight, nothing good happens.
It's fun. It's fun. It's all good, clean fun.
So what keeps tens of thousands
of people roaring back to Daytona year after year?
The weather, the bikes, the people, the entertainment.
We see some really great outfits.
And we see some great musicians.
I love the bikes. I mean, looking at the custom bikes, just walking
around and look at those, it's worth the price of admission.
Festivities run through Sunday, October 18th.
Now, officials are reminding everyone to stay alert, share the road.
Law enforcement will be out in full force
in Flagler and Volusia counties.
Here's Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staley.
We have a DUI enforcement unit that will be out every night.
We have additional traffic units
and deputies out to enforce the traffic laws.
We want to stop aggressive driving,
impaired driving, distracted driving.
Now, if you are coming out,
organizers suggest downloading the Biketoberfest app.
That'll help you keep up with schedules and traffic routes.
It's live at Daytona Beach, Bailey Bakover, Fox 35 News.
