The air alert sounded after the missile
or at least the debris from the missile fell in front
of this apartment building and that's
because as of late the United States seems to be withholding
critical intelligence that gives Ukraine's air force
the ability to sound the alarm for strikes
like these. You can see behind me a crater
from where the debris of that missile fell
and looking up towards the building the damage
that it caused this was one of the largest attacks
on Kyiv's infrastructure in the last several months
and at least three of its thermal
energy plants targeted we spoke with one
of the residents of this apartment building
we were in our flat and the alert hadn't gone off yet nobody
was expecting anything i don't know
what prompted it but something just didn't feel right.
Somehow I had this feeling and within
moments I grabbed my children and rushed them into the corridor.
And there was more bad news
on Thursday. More than half a million people
in Ukraine's capital left without electricity
and also now beginning unscheduled blackouts
and severe problems with the water supply
to the capital here in Kyiv.
People here not only looking towards a grim prospect for winter,
but also no good news from their allies in the United States.
