Hello everyone and welcome back
to the Fluctus channel.
In the shadowy realm where sea and sky converge,
a battle rages to protect the sanctity of the land.
Amidst the turbulent waves, these feared boats
emerge as guardians of the U.S. borders.
Their purpose is clear and resolute,
to halt the relentless tide of drug trafficking,
smuggling, and the audacious
attempts of unauthorized
border crossings.
These ships swiftly intercept
and apprehend individuals involved in illegal operations.
With their advanced technology and extreme speeds,
these boats serve as a beacon of defiance,
reminding all who dare to test the might of the United States
that the waters they traverse are fiercely guarded.
Originally developed for the Swedish Navy
by Doc Stavarvit, the CB-90-class
fast assault craft is a remarkable vessel
renowned for its speed and agility.
This is an extremely maneuverable vessel.
The CB90 can execute sharp turns at high speeds
and decelerate from its maximum speed
to a complete stop within just 2.5 boat lengths.
Its lightweight construction, shallow draught,
and twin water jets enable it to operate at
impressive speeds of up to 40 knots or 74 kilometers per hour.
In shallow waters
and challenging environments,
the CB-90's maneuvering capabilities are enhanced by
its partially ducted water jets and underwater control surfaces.
The CB-90-class fast assault craft can carry up
to 21 fully equipped combatants
and is armed with a range of weapons including machine guns,
automatic grenade launchers, and anti-ship missiles.
Another noteworthy vessel
is the Mark VI patrol boat.
Built to enhance the nation's coastal
defense, the Mark VI patrol boat boasts a range
of technical features and capabilities. With a
speed of around 35 knots and a range of over 600 nautical miles,
the Mark VI patrol boat will
swiftly respond to maritime incidents.
Modern surveillance systems give
the Mark VI patrol
boat enhanced situational awareness to counter threats effectively.
This feared boat provides
the U.S. with the required versatility
to conduct various mission profiles, such as escorting larger
vessels, conducting interdiction operations,
and providing support to special operations forces.
During training runs,
the crew of the Mark VI patrol boat operates with seamless teamwork,
ensuring the success of their mission.
Each member plays a critical role,
collaborating closely to execute missions with precision.
Stress levels run high as they execute rapid response drills,
simulating real-life situations.
As the Mark VI patrol boat glides through the open waters,
the crew prepares for a shooting exercise.
Carefully, they deploy an inflatable target,
strategically placing it at a distance,
then take their positions.
After preparing the weapon, they engage in a series of precise shots.
The goal of the training is to enhance their proficiency
in engaging targets from a distance.
In addition, the Riverine Command Boat, or RCB,
hold incredible capabilities
that make it one of the U.S. Coastal Defense's valuable assets.
Initially designed for shallow water and tropical environments,
these boats have been adapted for open sea patrol
within the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Operations.
Assigned to the Riverine Force,
the Coastal Riverine Squadron 3, or CSR-3,
the Riverine Command Boats are deployed
to execute maritime security operations,
safeguarding the freedom of movement
for strategic shipping and naval vessels
in the inshore and coastal areas.
With a length of around 40 feet
and the ability to reach speeds of over 40 knots,
the RCB offers exceptional agility, maneuverability,
and speed to fulfill literal and open sea patrol duties.
CRS-3's well-trained and cohesive teams
practice maneuvers within the RCB.
The boat's advanced propulsion system, coupled
with precise steering controls, enables swift and precise maneuvers,
including tight turns and rapid changes in direction.
Just like the U.S. patrol boats,
non-U.S. navies and corps deploy their own fleet of patrol boats.
They are aware of the crucial role
these boats play in maritime security and defense.
These international counterparts contribute
to the collective efforts to maintain a secure and
stable maritime environment globally
and reinforce the importance of international cooperation.
For instance, Saab has recently re-delivered the Doxta CB90 HSM,
an upgraded version of the renowned
CB90-class fast assault craft to the Swedish Navy.
Its name reflects the combat boat's impressive
capabilities. The H stands for half platoon,
S for ballistic protected, and M for modernized.
It boasts a compact size of 53.4 feet
and can reach a speed of way beyond 40 knots.
The bow is equipped with an emergency towing system
for immediate response.
Antennas are strategically positioned
and dispatched throughout the boat,
paving the way for improved surveillance.
Its design includes a modular weapon and
equipment system, allowing
for quick customization based on mission requirements.
The middle deck and off-deck are specifically optimized
for smooth operations around the gun
mounts, with ammunition storage situated near the gun mounts
and in the center. Additionally,
its robust design allows for quick beach landings
and rapid disembarkation of personnel and
and equipment.
Another notable player in the defense industry,
John Cockerill Defense, revealed Tank Boat.
This innovative concept seamlessly combines
the capabilities of a tank and a boat.
With a smooth transition from land to water,
the Tank Boat provides unmatched versatility
in challenging environments.
It features heavy armor protection
and can be armed with various weapon systems
to deliver both offensive and defensive capabilities.
The Tank Boat is 62 feet long
and can speed up to 50 knots.
The Tank Boat Remotely Operated Weapon Station
allows for precise and effective firepower,
while its advanced armors
minimize crew exposure to danger.
The boat's aft deck is flat and spacious,
making it ideal for personnel embarkation
and disembarkation, equipment deployment,
and maintenance operations.
Its design enhances logistical efficiency
and facilitates seamless operations
in diverse
military missions.
Patrol boats are not used only for offensive capabilities.
They also serve crucial roles
in safety
and security operations.
Safety patrol boats are specifically designed
to perform maritime law enforcement,
search and rescue missions,
and coastal surveillance.
They provide a reliable and agile platform
for ensuring the safety of waters
and protecting
maritime assets.
The U.S. Southern Command, for instance,
relies on safety patrol boats, among others,
to fulfill its missions effectively.
These boats play a vital role in protecting
and safeguarding the coastal regions.
With unwavering commitment,
this unit operates in the southern waters,
defending borders, ensuring maritime security,
and conducting search
and rescue missions.
Equipped with advanced navigation systems,
communication equipment, and search capabilities,
the Safety Patrol Boat enables the Coast Guard
to respond swiftly to distress calls, conduct patrols,
and enforce
maritime
regulations.
The USCG also relies on small boat deployment
to increase its operational efficiency.
For example, the Coast Guard cutter Catherine Moore
deployed a small boat during a routine law enforcement
patrol off the coast of Key West.
These small boats serve as agile and versatile assets,
allowing the USCG to extend its reach
and conduct closer inspections, interdictions,
and search and rescue operations in areas
where larger vessels can face limitations.
Flexibility and reach can be the winning card
in critical
operations.
Similarly, small boats are deployed
during amphibious assault exercises.
U.S. Marines demonstrate their capability
to launch small boats for reconnaissance purposes
from the well deck of ships.
Utilizing Combat Rubber Raiding Crafts, or CRRC,
these Marines carry out critical reconnaissance missions
in support of exercises
like Balikatan 2019.
This annual U.S.-Philippine military training focuses on a range
of missions, including humanitarian assistance, disaster relief,
counterterrorism, and combined military operations.
By launching small boats from the well deck, the Marines gain
the ability to deploy and navigate coastal areas swiftly,
gathering vital intelligence and conducting reconnaissance operations.
This capability enhances their situational awareness
and enables them to gather essential information to support the success
of amphibious operations and other joint military endeavors.
Whether launching from well decks
or swiftly transitioning from land to water,
these boats embody the resolute spirit of those who protect and serve.
They're the guardians, the sentinels of the sea,
ready to face any challenge with unwavering determination.
With their speed, maneuverability, and advanced capabilities,
Patrol boats stand as a resolute line of defense,
ensuring the safety of coastal waters, intercepting
threats, and enabling effective reconnaissance.
