You say you want to give a lesson
to Senator Elizabeth Warren on economics because she
keeps writing you these letters requesting information
on the 10-year Treasury yield.
Why don't you break down what this,
your new pen pal, what's going on here?
Well, look, Senator Warren loves to write letters.
More than writing the letters, she loves to leak them to the press.
that I read about the letter on Bloomberg
and Politico before we receive it.
And a lot of these letters are embarrassing and,
Rachel, as you said, economically illiterate.
I can't remember whether it was one, two, three, four letters ago,
she confused a currency swap with a currency intervention.
Then she accused us of doing a bond market intervention.
We've been doing it since 2024.
The Treasury Secretary of the United States just got
into a pen pal war with a United States
Senator and he won with one letter.
Scott Bessent versus Elizabeth Warren calling it a fight. That
would be generous. It was more like a nature documentary.
Now here's the twist. He didn't
yell. He didn't name call. He was polite.
He was calm, practically sweet, kind of like a
kindergarten teacher explaining
for the ninth time why we don't eat glue. Because Senator Warren,
she has sent him like 141 letters in 18 months guys
this is like one letter every four days
your grandmother she doesn't write you that much
and she still sends birthday cards with five dollar
bills in them now at some point
the treasury mailroom stopped calling in correspondence and
just started calling it weather he ignored her for months
then he finally wrote back once once
was plenty he offered her a for dummies tutorial
on currency graded on the yale scale not the
Harvard curve. This is not a burn, by the way, okay?
This is a controlled demolition. Remember,
she is the top Democrat on the Senate committee
that oversees America's banks, and the man that's
offering her remedial homework actually helped pull off
the 1992 trade that broke the Bank of
England. She challenged him to a currency fight.
This is kind of like challenging Michael Phelps
to a swim off because you once saw a pool.
What if I told you one man made $1 billion in a single
day by betting against an entire country
this is the story of how George Soros broke the Bank of
England it's 1992 the UK is desperately trying
to support the pound against a number of other
currencies including the German mark
but George Soros had spotted something that everyone else
had missed the UK was fighting
a losing battle they couldn't sustain its artificially high
interest rates forever
so what did he do he borrowed 10 billion pounds and immediately
used all of it to short the pound.
This massive selling pressure was like a tidal wave hitting
the Bank of England, and they couldn't continue to support the pound.
And then they finally gave up.
The pound crashed 15% in a single day.
What did Soros do? He bought it all back again. One man,
one trade, $1 billion in a single day.
And that is the story of how George Soros broke the Bank
of England. But then he went
and listed every President Trump tax cut that she voted against.
bigger refunds, no tax on tips,
no tax on overtime, bigger deductions for seniors,
your money, she said no. But she did write a letter about it.
Oh, and then came the PS,
of course, you know, the one sweet little holiday greeting.
Harvard, the DNA test,
the Cherokee Nation, years and years of baggage,
gift wrapped with a bow. Meanwhile, in Michigan,
supporters of Dr. Abdul El-Sayed,
they want free healthcare for everybody. Who pays? The rich.
How much? Long pause. Yeah.
Americans have seen promises from different presidents,
different leaders for many times
about health care reform that just never materializes.
How realistic is implementing
something like Medicare for all?
Look, I'm going to be one U.S. senator out of 100, right? I can't
do it alone. Right. But one of the problems
that I think we've basically forgotten is that we as
senators are not in the business of just having
a conversation with other senators. Our job is to
have a conversation with the American public.
My goal is to have that conversation to persuade
people that we can and must actually guarantee health care
in this country. Health care has
become the fastest rising cost in an already unaffordable budget.
We can guarantee everybody
a Medicare card that sits in their back pocket
from the moment they're born to the moment they
pass away gently in their sleep, hopefully at 120 years old.
That is good for the health care
that they need and deserve. No premiums,
no copays, no deductibles, no medical debts.
too bold, though, that would scare off some voters?
Like your competitors think it should
be incremental. Yeah, I just think at this point,
when you've watched your premiums go up 15 percent
last year alone, we're going to watch a lot
of people lose their health care coverage. You know
what that's going to mean? That means that health
care costs are going to go up on everybody else
next year again. These incremental plans have
not solved the problem. What's going up is your
premium incrementally. And I think we need to have
a nationwide conversation about how we solve it.
Now, look, for me, Medicare for All is Mount Everest.
And if you've got to climb to Mount Everest,
you're going to have to take some steps.
But right now, we're moving in the wrong direction.
And here's the problem with it.
The biggest spenders in our politics are the pharmaceutical industry,
the health insurance
industry, big hospitals, nursing homes.
And they're the ones telling us what we
cannot have and should not fight for.
I'm going to be out here talking about what
it looks like to guarantee people the health
care security that they need and deserve through Medicare for All.
That is where we need to be going.
I've been fighting for it for a long time so much
so that I wrote a whole book about how we can do it
And as a U.S.
Senator you'll count on me to be fighting
for that and working toward that throughout my time in DC
Somewhere an economics professor just fainted
because well today you get the letter you get the receipts
And you also get the punch lines now
if you're new here go ahead and subscribe guys
It's one click and I promise I promise
not to send you 141 letters about it
Now if you or someone you love is on Medicare
or turning 65 chapter offers completely free Medicare help
I left your phone number in the description
down below. Give them a call right now,
909-563-8279. The average senior saving about $1,100 a year.
And if this made you laugh
even once, hit the like button on the way out.
Scott Bessent would definitely hit like.
All right. So I want to go ahead and start with the numbers
because the number is a joke. Okay.
141 guys. This is how many letters Senator
Elizabeth Warren sent Scott Bessent in 18 months.
So go ahead and do the math with me, right?
This is roughly one letter every four days.
Every four days. Now, you know
who writes somebody every four days? Pen pals,
lovesick teenagers, people who have been politely asked to stop.
But here's the question that nobody
in Washington wants to touch.
Who's actually writing these things? Like, even Scott Bessent
wondered out loud on Fox News whether it
was even her or her staff writing these letters.
Now, it is a fair question, because somewhere in a Senate office,
there is an intern with a wrist brace and a thousand yard stare.
Or maybe a chat bot wrote letter number 97
and nobody happened to notice.
Honestly, would you?
You say you want to give a lesson to Senator Elizabeth Warren
on economics because she keeps writing you
these letters requesting information on the 10 year Treasury yield.
Why don't you break down what this,
your new pen pal, what's going on here?
Well, look, Senator Warren loves to write letters.
More than writing the letters, she loves to leak them to the press.
I read about the letter on Bloomberg and Politico before we receive it.
And a lot of these letters are embarrassing and,
Rachel, as you said, economically illiterate.
I can't remember whether it was one, two, three, four letters ago.
She confused a currency swap with a currency intervention.
Then she accused us of doing a bond market intervention.
We've been doing it since 2024.
And the shocking thing, the shocking thing here, she is the ranking
member on the Senate Banking Committee and she is on Senate Finance.
So like this level of illiteracy,
whether it's her or her staff, it is woeful.
And, look, I wish her happy Indigenous Peoples
Day to her and her family, given some of the
past claims she's made.
Maybe the problem is that you keep trying
to exchange letters with her and you should
be doing smoke signals, and then she would be able to understand it.
Well, I'll tell you, the other shocking thing,
not a single legacy media outlet has called her out on this.
No one has said, like,
what is going on in the senior senator from Massachusetts office?
What do they do all day?
Do they sit around and, like,
sip herbal tea and think about raising taxes?
I mean, it's crazy.
Meanwhile, over at the Treasury Department,
Scott Bessent did what any sane person does
with junk mail. He ignored it for months.
Then one day, he sat down and wrote back,
one time. And folks, once was more than enough.
Speaking of letters,
Elizabeth Warren sends 141 of them and nobody reads them. We send
one, and people actually do read them.
It's called the Ron Yates Report Newsletter and
it's totally free. So here's why it matters to you.
Tax breaks, like no tax on tips, no
tax on overtime and the bigger senior deduction,
they only help if you know they exist before
you file.
We break it down in plain English,
the link's in the description below, go ahead and join
for free.
Unlike Senator Elizabeth Warren's letters, ours come with answers.
So now, you would expect fireworks,
shouting, maybe a tweet in all caps, nope.
Scott Bessent didn't raise his voice,
he didn't call her names, he wrote the most
polite, calm, perfectly professional letter you've ever read.
it was devastating. Kind of like getting beaten up
with a feather pillow repeatedly. So here's
how it opens, right? So he tells Senator Elizabeth Warren
that her latest letter adds to the mounting
body of evidence that she doesn't understand financial markets.
But then he reminds her that
he already suggested that she study introductory economics.
And apparently she didn't take him up
on that. Now think about that, right?
The secretary of the treasury assigned a United States senator
some homework and she skipped it you know that feeling
when your mom isn't yelling you know
like when she's quiet and disappointed
that's even worse everybody knows that's worse guys
yelling means you can argue back calm means you already lost
this is what Scott Bessent did right
here he didn't fight her he just graded
her and she failed badly Scott Bessent well he's had enough
of senator elizabeth warren she has sent more than
a hundred letters to the treasury department
demanding information, calling the rise in bond yields self-inflicted.
A lot of these letters are embarrassing and,
Rachel, as you said, economically illiterate.
I can't remember whether it was one, two, three, four letters ago,
she confused a currency swap with a currency intervention.
Then she accused us of doing a bond market intervention.
We've been doing it since 2024.
for. And the shocking thing, the shocking thing here,
she is the ranking member on the Senate
Banking Committee and she is on Senate Finance.
Besson wrote back to Warren, but the correspondence
wasn't exactly friendly.
My offer of a foreign exchange for dummies tutorial still stands.
I have so many directions to go here, Kevin.
I love this old school letter writing campaign in
the public square. What do you think that, I mean,
what is Besson really trying to accomplish here?
Well, there are a couple of things that come to mind,
but I think maybe since we're discussing this on Columbus Day
for Senator Warren, I should issue a land acknowledgement.
The first she deserves that. And then, look,
I think the worst thing in Washington is sending 100 letters,
especially when you don't know what you're talking about.
And so I love the rhetoric of Scott Besson.
Marcus raised the point in the previous segment about messaging.
I think he's one of the great messengers for those of us
who believe in conservative economic policies.
But more importantly than that is the substance of it.
And that's what I would encourage people who are watching
this who say this is kind of fun sparring, but what's the substance?
The substance is the secretary towards the end of the letter,
his letter, talks about the economic benefits for the everyday American
from the Working Family Tax Act, $3,400 increase in tax refunds.
And our estimates by my colleague, Dr. E.J. Antoni,
you all know well, are that the benefits are even greater.
That's what we need to be focused on.
And so use this letter writing campaign of someone
who is an embarrassment to the United States Senate and to academia as
a way of showing the American people what this administration has done.
Well said, Jackie. You were chuckling there.
Was that because you want to explain the difference between
a currency swap and an intervention to the audience?
I don't want to explain that difference. But here's the difference.
I'm not purporting myself as somebody that can do that.
And that's the problem that I have with these government committees.
Somebody like Elizabeth Warren shouldn't be on banking
and finance because she has no idea what she's talking about.
Some of the people that are on the committees are well-suited for them,
but this is also what I fear about AI.
For those people who are thinking
the government is going to regulate us
and save us with AI, you do not have people competent enough
in the advances in AI and the technology itself
to be making those kinds of decisions.
So she should skate in her lane
and leave Treasury to do what its job is to do,
because I trust Scott Bessent more than I trust her.
And when it comes to AI, the same thing.
You're going to have people like this
that are going to be making huge claims
about technology and having a huge impact
that have no idea what they're talking about.
So let's rewind to the Joe Biden years.
You guys remember those, right? Grocery bills that made you
cry in the parking lot. Inflation hit a 40-year high.
Interest rates hit a 22-year high. Buying
a house went from dream to hilarious joke.
And where was Elizabeth Warren? Cheering, waving
pom-poms for every spending bill.
And when prices exploded, she blamed the Federal Reserve. Not the
spending. Never the spending.
So now, President Trump, he's in the White House and suddenly she's
got 141 concerns. It's kind of funny how that works, right?
It's like a weather vane with a
law degree. Scott Besson absolutely nailed it.
Her view of the economy changes depending upon
who's the president, but her poor understanding of it,
that stays perfectly consistent. Now,
honestly, consistency is a virtue, just not that kind.
All right, now, quick favor, guys. You know
the one friend who still thinks that Elizabeth Warren
is the smartest person in the Senate?
go ahead and send them this video. Don't explain it.
Don't argue. Just hit share and walk away.
Let it blow up in their face. Let Scott Bessent do the talking.
He's clearly better at letters.
All right. In one of her letters,
Elizabeth Warren called Treasury bonds buyback program
unprecedented. Now, it sounds like Scott Bessent
invented something dangerous in his garage when
you use words like unprecedented. But there's one problem.
The program started back in May of 2024
under Joe Biden. Oops. Yeah, exactly.
So here's what it is. The government buys back some of its
own debt. That keeps the market running smoothly
and it gets taxpayers a better deal. It's not a
conspiracy. It's just plumbing.
Now, on Fox News, Scott Bessent said that she once mixed up a currency
swap with a currency intervention.
For the ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee, this is
like a fire chief confusing a hose with a hot dog.
Worse, Scott Bessent says that her letters land in
Bloomberg and Politico before Treasury even gets them.
She's not asking questions. She's
auditioning. Now, let's go ahead and talk about your money, okay?
This one is personal. Now,
Scott Bessent listed what President Trump's one big,
beautiful bill delivered. The average tax
refund this year is over $3,400. Now, this is up 11%.
More than 30 million workers paid no tax on
their overtime. More than 7 million paid no tax on tips.
More than 37 million seniors, they got a
bigger deduction and more than 34 million families they got
a bigger child tax credit plus we can't
forget about the new trump accounts for kids
and elizabeth warren she voted no on all of that but
the american people don't care what it's named they want
to know what it does for them and what
i got to tell you is the my constituents
my taxpayers those who filed taxes in my district
think it is a beautiful bill
and they think they know it's a working family tax cut act
because they've experienced it.
They have more money back
in their pockets after filing their taxes this year.
Families are averaging $3,500 in tax cuts.
Refunds are up nearly 11%.
One of the other things we heard from the Democrats today
was talking about specific provisions in the bill, no tax on tips.
They railed against that,
yet we had a Democrat member just come to the floor
and saying he wants to make that permanent.
So which is it? Do you like it or don't you like it?
And in fact, we could have made it permanent had
we had any Democrat support when we passed this
bill in the first place.
Instead, every Democrat voted against no tax on tips, which is very
important to people in the hospitality industry,
in my district, and other industries as well.
every democrat speaking today voted against this bill
which prevented what would have been the
largest tax increase for working families all across my district
and all across the state
now remember that refund was yours it was always yours
the government just held it all year like
a clingy roommate borrowing your car she voted against giving it back
then wrote a letter about
it. So be honest, did your refund go up?
So then Elizabeth Warren, she goes on TV and she took a
swing at the very people who work at the Treasury Department.
She questioned their skills, their
dedication, basically implied that they're not up to the job.
Now, Scott Bessent, he wasn't having
any of it. So first, he said the team is fully staffed
by historical standards. So that complaint
is dead on arrival. Second, and this is the good part,
Elizabeth Warren, she voted against every
single treasury nominee.
Didn't matter how qualified they were. Harvard grad? No. Wall
Street legend? No. Ghost of Alexander Hamilton?
Oh, absolutely no. So she blocks the hires and
then complains about the staff.
This is like slashing your own tires and then writing 141
letters to the car company. Scott Bessent challenge?
Uh, yeah. Start voting yes. Don't
hold your breath on that. Now you guys remember the COVID years,
right? Free money everywhere.
Then inflation peaked at 9.1% and prices never came back down.
This is what free costs.
Oh yeah, free. Meant to do that, right?
And look at the scoreboard, guys. Scott
Bessent has big results.
Bigger refunds, no tax on tips, a treasury market that the rest of the
world envies. Elizabeth Warren has 141 letters.
And remember how her 2020 presidential run ended?
Yeah. She finished third in Massachusetts,
her own home state, even behind Joe Biden and Bernie
Sanders. Even her own neighbors took a pass.
She picked a fight with a guy who broke the Bank of
England with a pen pal strategy. Yeah, so here's our move, guys.
The midterms are coming. Show up,
bring a friend, vote red, top to bottom,
and Senator, maybe try letter 142 on yourself.
Now, folks, here's the bottom line.
One man sent one letter, calm, polite, packed with receipts.
The other sent 141 and still lost the argument.
Now, before you go, guys, I want you to think
of one person whose refund went up this year,
or someone tired of being told free stuff
falls from the sky, go ahead and send them this video,
let them laugh, and then let them
think about it.
Now, if Scott Bassin's letter made you smile even one time,
go ahead and hit the like button,
one click, no stamp required,
and if you're not subscribed yet, go ahead and fix that
guys, we'll be bringing the receipts every single day,
and I promise you, never to send
you 141 letters.
