Trump Energy Secretary REVEALS Why Gas Prices Are So High

Oct 13, 2026

Gas and diesel prices are becoming a major issue heading into the midterms, and President Trump's Energy Secretary Chris Wright says the real story is far bigger than Iran.

On The Charlie Kirk Show, Wright reveals how Ukrainian attacks have devastated Russia's refining capacity, turning one of the world's largest diesel exporters into an importer—and tightening fuel supplies around the globe.

But Wright says relief is coming.

Middle East oil flows are returning to pre-war levels, American refineries are increasing production, and Trump has taken action aimed at lowering diesel costs for farmers and truckers.

Wright also takes direct aim at Gavin Newsom and Democratic energy policies, arguing that refinery closures and restrictions on domestic production have made Americans more vulnerable to global disruptions.

“I think the worst of this is past and we'll see better times coming ahead.”

Could lower gas prices arrive just in time to reshape the midterms?
