US President Donald Trump is reportedly having second thoughts about Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s controversial plan to livestream the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan, as backlash grows across Washington. According to Axios, Trump has privately expressed doubts after receiving criticism from Republican and Democratic lawmakers, along with advisers inside and outside the White House. Hasan, a former Army major convicted of killing 13 people in the 2009 Fort Hood attack, is scheduled to face a firing squad on December 3. Hegseth announced that the execution would be made public, arguing that Americans should understand the consequences of such attacks. But Vice President JD Vance has questioned whether the livestream will happen, saying he would not watch it.
