Today, I'm slow smoking a beef stew.
I got my container.
We're going to try out Kinder's Grandpa's Beef Stew.
Why is it so expensive?
Isn't a beef chuck the same thing?
Oh, this one's six bucks.
I'll get that one, and then we'll get this one as well.
That'll have to do.
20 is a lot better than 39.
That's crazy.
I made it to the house.
I reckon we'll come over here
and uncover my Z-grip and roll it out over here.
Gonna open her up.
Oh, yeah.
Used.
Used.
Okay.
All right, she's cleaned up.
Smoker's plugged up.
I'm going to crank this guy all the way up to 300 degrees.
Shut the door.
Go ahead and let that smoke start flowing.
now we're gonna get to work on the meat
so decided to use my hex cast, we'll sear everything in there
so we don't waste no flavor, pick up the heat fair amount
of avocado oil, here goes the hunk of meat
dude this is massive, cut it
in half, we're gonna go little cubes, i'm going like one and a half inch
by one and a half inch because i want some thick girthy meat
in my mouth, all right it's diced up
into a bowl, i'm gonna grab two packs
of this and we're gonna sprinkle this on, go ahead and mix that
in real good, coat every last piece of meat
in that, all right boom she's properly coated, place this
here i'm gonna grab meat place into this oil right above the heat
and we'll just keep doing that to
all these pieces might help if i turn up the heat here's
the last bit of meat that right here and
every couple minutes we'll come over here
and give them a flip we just want a little color oh that
one's got a nice color my meat's almost done
cooking let's chop up an onion nice and chopped
up back over here give it another flip
and toss those to the side i actually push all that to the
side and toss in that and the other half
of onion go ahead let that start cooking a bit more oil why
not push that side over the heat i'm gonna chop
a jalapeno all right roughly chop the pan and we'll
mix all that in just like so now i need some garlic place
the knife there and smash we'll
toss that in the pan. And we'll just keep mixing all
that flavor in. Keep trying to make these
onions turn translucent is usually my goal.
I'm also going to season up my vegetables just to
help them onion sweat. Now for the celery.
I'm going to chop them up into little pieces and
dump that in as well. Mixy mixy mix.
I'm going to dump in all my baby carrots and all my gold
potatoes. Again, mix that in just a little bit.
Now I'm going to dump in my beef stock. We'll go
all of it. Two whole containers because why not?
And then we'll mix all this in evenly. Level it
out. Crank the heat up. I'm going to bring it to a boil
and then we'll throw it on the smoker. I'm
really hoping that smoke adds a new layer of flavor
to this that i've never had in a pot stew
all right the water is starting to boil toss
in three bay leaves we're gonna go a hefty amount
of thyme fair amount of dried oregano a little bit
of italian why not splash of garlic powder
splash of onion powder paprika
and for some spice fair amount of cayenne pepper go as much as you
want that's gonna make it pretty spicy and we'll go ahead
and mix all that in really really well
boom there she goes cut the heat put these bad boys
on and take this to the smoker this is gonna
be a good pot of stew. All right, now I'll just shut the lid.
I'm literally going to let this
cook for like two hours and 30 minutes.
We'll probably check it in two hours and see how it
goes, but I'm expecting a smokiness to come
with this food that's going to add an extra layer of
amazingness to it. I can't wait. It's been roughly two hours.
Let's just see if there's any liquid
in the pot left. Smoker's still going. That's good news.
Here we go. Oh my gosh, dude. That looks so
good. Mix it around. Oh my god, that pot is full of flavor.
These guys tender yet? She's still not
falling apart yet i'm gonna shut
the door we're just gonna continue to let that cook i would say
another hour and it'll be ready all right it's been three
and a half hours let's remove it go
ahead and rate this one out of ten just
on the presentation son that is what i want my pots to
look like oh my god it's heavenly dude we'll take
this inside we're gonna let it rest for 10 minutes
we're gonna dig in and we're gonna see just how good
this is but bro she definitely got some
smokiness all right all right i let this rest
for like 30 minutes so i'm gonna head and use some
cornstarch and water to make
this into a gravy now let's plate all right i'm gonna start off
with the potatoes into my bowl
and take those to pound town real fast give them a smush then we
got mashed potatoes and grab
that meat place it here some carrot throw them there a little
more of that meat a lot son pick up some of that juice go ahead
and dump that right on top just
like so bring this over here that gravy
in and we're gonna pour some of that right into the
potatoes just like so bro that is a freaking pot stew baby yes oh
that looks so good oh yeah let's
go ahead and give it a try the gravy makes them potatoes taste
so good go ahead and try some of
them baby carrots perfectly cooked now we gotta try
a piece of that meat look at that see if she's
tender oh it goes down the throat like butter everything about
this is absolutely amazing i
do taste the smokiness too dude definitely
a 10 out of 10 meal try it share it love it you're
gonna enjoy it. That is so good.
