The White House has a new press secretary.
President Trump appointed Katie Zachariah to the post on October 9th.
She spoke with Fox News after it was announced.
All right, Katie, congrats. How'd you get the gig?
He loved what a fighter I was for him, Jesse.
So I just get to continue doing what I've been doing,
which is promote all of the things that President Trump is doing
on behalf of the American people to win.
Zachariah is a conservative commentator and attorney
who was until recently the communication advisor for Trump Media
and Technology Group,
which runs Truth Social.
That's where Trump announced his decision to appoint her,
saying,
She has an unblemished record of support and has been a loyal
and brilliant supporter right from the beginning.
She is likewise a devoted fan and member of MAGA.
Zachariah replaces Caroline Leavitt, who left the post over the summer.
Her first briefing in the White House press room is set for Tuesday.
