In this wilderness cooking adventure, I prepare fresh pico de gallo with tomatoes, yellow pepper, onion, cilantro and lime, make rustic tortillas by hand, then sear thick bone-in ribeye steaks over the wood fire.
The steaks are finished with bubbling butter and fresh herbs until deeply crusted and juicy, then sliced and layered onto warm tortillas with fresh pico de gallo and crispy-edged fried eggs.
No talking. No music. Just the sounds of sizzling steak, crackling fire, chopping vegetables, flowing water and the forest.
