🎬 ABOUT THINGS CHANGE 🎬
Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna shared Best Actor honors at the 1988 Venice Film Festival for their roles in this comedy of mistaken identity from David Mamet. Jerry (Mantegna) is a low-level Chicago mobster whose attitude has gotten him in trouble with the big boys. He is given a chance to redeem himself, if he can just keep an eye on Gino (Ameche) for the weekend. Gino is an old shoeshine man who has agreed to take the rap for a murder committed by a Mafia chieftain in return for his lifelong dream of owning a fishing boat. Jerry just has to coach Gino on his "confession" and deliver him to the police on Monday morning. Instead Jerry decides to take Gino to Lake Tahoe for one last fling before he goes to prison. But when Gino is mistaken for a regional Mafia boss, the farewell bash turns into a major misadventure.
