What We Know: ICE shooting in NYC sparks protests and city backlash

ICE agents shot 28-year-old Oscar Belgao, a Dominican national with a criminal record, during an arrest attempt in Marble Hill. Belgao's five-year-old son was in the car but remained uninjured. The incident sparked outrage from city officials and led to violent anti-ICE protests, with calls for the agency's abolition and an independent investigation into the shooting.
