But as you know in every episode of Good Tech Cheap we do a full unboxing and review. So let's get into it. Hey everybody. Welcome back to Good Tech Cheap. Today we're going to be taking a look at this MMB Max 5.0 CarPlay and Android Auto. Packaging on it looks really nice, lots of information, and when you get into it you're going to have the user manual right here. So this is pretty important, it's just going to give you all the information you need to get started. Right here we've got a USB-A and a USB-C cable that is included. And now the device itself. This thing is nice. It's very sleek, it's very compact, it's got all the ports and everything you need to plug it into your vehicle, and a USB-C to C cable is included just in case your vehicle does take the C device, or you can use the USB-A to USB-C cable that's included. But let's go ahead and get it set up and try it out! Let's take a look at the MMB Max 5.0 AI Box, Android 14 device. If you want to seriously upgrade the technology in your car without replacing the factory stereo well check this out the idea is pretty simple instead of replacing your car's existing infotainment system the mmv max 5.0 plugs directly into the original usb port and adds a whole lot more functionality to a compatible vehicle the setup is designed to be extremely easy just connect the mmv max 5.0 using the included usb cable follow the quick setup instructions on your car's display and you're ready to go once it's connected you get wireless apple carplay and wireless android auto so you can connect your iphone or android phone without constantly plugging and unplugging the cable but this isn't just a wireless carplay adapter the mmv max 5.0 runs android 14 and comes with 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage it also has the google play store built in so you can download compatible apps directly to the device which is gonna include entertainment apps like youtube netflix disney plus hulu and plenty of other options there's There's also a built-in GPS, 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, and a slot for a 4G SIM card. If you need additional storage, the device supports TF card expansion up to 256GB. Another cool feature is the split screen capability. You can have navigation running while also displaying other content on the screen, which can be useful for passengers on longer road trips. The MMB Max 5.0 also keeps many of your vehicle's original controls, depending on your vehicle you can continue using the touchscreen, steering wheel controls, knobs, and voice assistants. Now compatibility is important because the device is designed for vehicles that already have factory wired Apple CarPlay. It also works with certain aftermarket Alpine, Kenwood, and Pioneer displays with wired CarPlay or Android Auto, but it's not compatible with BMW or Tesla models. So definitely check your vehicle's compatibility before buying. Overall the MMB Max 5.0 is an interesting way to turn a compatible factory infotainment system into a much much more compatible android based multimedia system without removing the original stereo. So if you're looking for wireless carplay, wireless android auto, streaming apps, navigation, expandable storage, watching movies in your car, well the MMB Max 5.0 is definitely worth checking out.
