Father Fish is an old time fish keeper. For 70 years he has kept fish. These are his simple, easy, bullet-proof methods for keeping healthy, happy tropical fish in an environment that can truly be called a living aquarium. Louis Foxwell adopted the role of Father Fish many years ago when he decided to open a tropical fish store as a retirement business. He had been a missionary, following in his father's footsteps for 25 years. Both men served the same congregation of deaf worshipers. Tropical fish were Father fish's constant companion throughout his life. He tells a wonderful story about his grandmother who kept fish in Berlin, Germany as a child.
Well, hi there. Guess what? We have a delivery. We just got a box of fish,
and it's some stuff I'm really excited about. Let's open it up and see what this looks like.
Here's the invoice. See if I got everything I ordered. Hmm, if I can read it.
Oh, black orchid crowntail bettas. Nice. Koi betta, mailed, is scratched, or I got it.
Oh, it's a free fish. They gave me a free koi betta. How nice. Red honey gouramis,
blue-eyed lemon bristlenose. Albino. Blue-eyed. I think it's albino. Lemon bristlenose. Yeah,
it is. Bristlenose. This is one. This is one. Get this. Get this. Netropolis nematopus.
I have been two years trying to get that fish. Assorted rams. I've got a bunch of females,
and I need males, so hopefully there will be some. Scarlet battis. I love scarlet battis.
And a dozen furcata rainbows. So, let's take a look. Let's see what we got here.
I've been thinking about where I'm going to put all these. I think they're going to work. Okay,
here's the battis. Can't see a thing. I'll have to put it in tanks, or containers, or something,
so you'll be able to see. Can't tell anything from that. And this is... Oh, the water is cold.
Oh, rainbow furcatas. Oh, these are a little bigger. There's a dead one.
They gave me an extra. Nothing like them. One dead in there. They look pretty good,
and they're bigger than what I had. I've gotten them twice. The first time I got them, I got six,
and I still have those six. That was two months ago. The second batch, I got a dozen. They all
disappeared in a day, so they came in bad. And this is now my third try with them,
and I'm a little concerned about what to do. Let's flood them a bit. This is the blue-eyed
black-out. They're tiny little guys, but they are nice. Let's put them up here
with those guys. Assorted rams. Oh, I hope there's some males in here. Let's see.
Looks like gold. Two or three golds. I need two. I need three blue rams, and it looks like there
are three there. If they're all male, then we're good. We'll go in that shank and pair up.
This looks nasty. The Tropis nevatopis. The water is really cloudy. They're a nice-sized fish.
A lot bigger than I expected, and they don't look at all like what I expected.
I don't know what I expected, but this doesn't look like it. Let's float them for a bit. They're
honey gouramis. I got these for J-Dog. He wanted some. You know what they are? They're the dwarf
red. That's not what I ordered. They're supposed to be red honeys. These are not red honeys,
I don't think. They look like... I don't know. They look like both. I can't tell.
Where am I going to put them? I guess up here with those guys. All right, so that's it. What else?
That's it. Nice pack. Nice fish. We'll get the bettas in. I'll show you all of them a little
later. Nice order. The Natropolis, I'm a little disappointed. They're not what I thought they
were. I'll have to look them up and double check myself. Thanks all. See you later.
Oh, by the way, make sure you plug into Discord. We've got a lot of good stuff going on there,
and we are now on Instagram. Finally, we're up on Instagram. Posting little one-minute videos
as well as lots and lots of pictures of father fish tanks,
father fish deep substrate systems. Catch you all there.
