At her second attempt, Sofya Smagina won a medal in the current Russian Grand Prix series (she had finished fourth at the opening stage). In the free skate, Sofya landed two quadruple jumps (a Salchow and a toe loop) and received a total score of 216.03 points from the judges—the best result of the event.

Ekaterina Korchazhnikova took second place, and Anna Dokukina finished third.
