Raskin Blasts DOJ “Cover Up Mode” as Redacted Epstein Email Raises New Questions About Trump Now

Rep. Jamie Raskin is accusing the Justice Department of operating in what he calls “cover-up mode” over the Epstein files. After reviewing unredacted material held by the DOJ, Raskin said he saw numerous redactions he considered “completely unnecessary” and questioned whether the Epstein Files Transparency Act is being fully followed.
He also pointed to an email Jeffrey Epstein sent to Ghislaine Maxwell that forwarded an account involving conversations between Epstein's lawyers, Trump lawyers and others during the 2009 investigation.
Raskin says the email contained a reference to Trump being described as saying Epstein was not a member of Mar-a-Lago, but a guest who had never been asked to leave, a passage Raskin says was redacted for an “inscrutable” reason. Raskin argues that the document appears to raise questions about Trump's more recent account that he had kicked Epstein out or asked him to leave.
