CHINESE PARTS IN U.S. VOTING MACHINES? AND NOW $1 BILLION FOR STATES TO BUY “SAFE” MACHINES - BUT WHAT EXACTLY IS A “SAFE” MACHINE?

A newly discussed letter from DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin raises concerns about voting-machine components coming from China and whether potentially compromised equipment can continue to be used.

But there’s another part raising questions: $1 billion for states to use “safe” machines.

Pointing to a previous Louisiana Senate hearing, Lindell says voting-system representatives were questioned about security and alleges the answer was that “no voting machines are secure” and that they all have potential backdoors.

But Lindell says there is another way forward: paper ballots, hand counting and public verification.

If the goal is election security, the bigger question remains: What makes any voting machine “safe”?
