Metello (1970) | w/ Ottavia Piccolo (Cannes Award Winner) | Full Movie

Metello (1970) | Masterpiece by Mauro Bolognini | Full Movie HD | English Subs

Florence, late 19th century. Metello, orphaned as a child, moves to the city and becomes a bricklayer. As he grows, he discovers love, first with an older woman, then with the young Ersilia (Ottavia Piccolo, Cannes winner for this role), whom he marries. Above all, he develops a strong political conscience. In an era of great social tension, Metello becomes a leader in the first major builders' strike, fighting for workers' rights and human dignity amidst personal sacrifice, prison time, and the temptation of infidelity. A powerful portrait of the birth of socialism in Italy.
