STOP Feeding Your Fish!
Father Fish never feeds his fish. But they are never hungry. His aquarium has a built in food web that grows food for his fish. The food web is at the forefront of aquarium research, focusing on using wild-collected leaves from lakes, rivers, and other water bodies as food for microscopic life. Father Fish challenges the conventional belief that aquariums must be sterile environments devoid of bacteria. Instead, he argues that fish, like humans, come from natural ecosystems teeming with life, including beneficial bacteria essential for their health.
Father Fish advocates for a more natural approach to aquarium maintenance, suggesting that frequent water changes are unnecessary if a balanced food web and planted aquarium are established. He demonstrates this by asserting that he could leave his aquarium for 6 months relying solely on the food web and plants to sustain his fish. This method emphasizes sustainability and ecological balance, mirroring natural aquatic ecosystems. Father Fish's research and practices aim to revolutionize aquarium care by promoting self-sustaining environments that prioritize the holistic health of aquatic life through natural processes and minimal intervention.
A Food Web is the basis of a Natural Aquarium. Father Fish teaches how to build a living food web in your aquarium. The food web is the most natural system for an aquarium. Creating a food web is simple and foolproof. Fish live their entire lives in environments with established food webs. This is their natural environment.
