Federal gov. pays Texas back for border security expenses

Texas is receiving $7.5 billion from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to reimburse costs from Operation Lone Star. Governor Greg Abbott intends to use much of the funding for property tax relief while maintaining border security efforts. Meanwhile, Democratic challenger Gina Hinojosa criticizes the spending as a waste of taxpayer money.
