But there is a subtle change in Queen Letizia’s usual state banquet attire, something more romantic and airy. So why did Queen Letizia choose this tiara for France's long-awaited state visit? Why not the spectacular Fleur-de-Lis, the great symbol of Spain's Bourbon dynasty?
On September 29, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia formally welcomed President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron to Madrid for a state visit that continued on September 30. The official program included a formal welcome at the Royal Palace, a luncheon at Zarzuela, a meeting between Felipe and Macron, and, that evening, the traditional gala dinner at the Royal Palace. And this is the moment jewelry lovers had been waiting for. For the event, Queen Letizia reached for a completely different diamond tiara - THE SPANISH FLORAL TIARA. But why?
