Black and White Photography | "Frank Hoogeboom" | Featured Artist

In Frank's own words:
"I picked up a camera in my teens near an Air Force Europe base. I’ve photographed military aircraft for years and still do occasionally. As I became more interested in photography, I started shooting landscapes. Courses at our local community center gave me technical skills, but workshops led by seasoned professionals and a trip to the Lofoten islands in Norway ignited my passion. I found my signature there.

I’ve traveled with other photographers and organized family holidays around interesting landmarks. I’ve built a portfolio and share a small selection on my website. Landscapes and waterscapes are my main topics, and I try to focus on them to keep my work simple. Recently, I’ve started experimenting with a medium format analog camera. It forces me to consider my compositions carefully and I believe slow photography brings out my creativity.

Photography allows me to express myself, which is special for an introvert. My images reflect my personality, as I like peace, quietness, and structure. I’m grateful for my audience that supports my work and hope to continue this journey forever."
