Watch as this customer battles against Tesco Security, Tesco Management and Police Officers who attended the call.

The customer was accused of shop lifting by Tesco Security, who grabbed his bag and detained him until the police got there.

Once the police got to the scene, the customer emptied his bag to prove his innocence. However, the police officers were adamant that the security who wrongly accused the man of shop lifting was in the wrong.

Yes, cost of living crisis is probably driving shoplifting increase, but accountability and integrity should not be compromised at any cost. Wasting police time due to false reports and inadequate training or whatever else caused this security to accuse the customer of shop lifting should be identified as this is not an isolated incident. Security are somewhat forced to go beyond the policies and guidelines to protect business assets. However, if this means that innocent people are wrongfully accused of stealing then this is unacceptable and has to be called out.
