You Don't Have to Be a Farmer to Grow Food- Kitchen Garden in the Suburbs

One year ago, our family moved to a home in the suburbs near the mountains (zone 7b) where the backyard was completely neglected. We started with a hot tub, in ground trampoline, and endless patches of grass and weeds.
Today, that same backyard is a full kitchen garden: 6 metal raised beds and 3 wooden beds bursting with vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We didn't stop there — we squeezed every last inch of growing space out of our front yard too, tucking in pumpkins, watermelon, peppers, zucchini, and eggplant wherever the sun would reach.
You don't need acres of land or a farming background to be able to start growing your own food. If this gave you some hope or encouragement to start growing in your own space, please like, comment and subscribe for more cooking and gardening videos!
