Oisin, a young servant girl, endures extreme hardship and abuse to pursue education and care for a child named Take. Despite the support of her teacher, she eventually sacrifices her schooling for Take's well-being. In another account, Oisin faces false accusations of theft from her cruel mistress, leading her to flee into a snowy winter landscape to find her way home.
