Black and White Photography | "David Dye" Barriers | Photographer Platform

In David's own words: "As a photographic artist, my pallet is primarily in Black and White, especially in high contrast. I enjoy exploring photography as an artistic medium for the expression of emotions. Be it Fine Art Photography, Street Photography or Abstract Art.
I embrace the concept of “Wabi-Sabi”, a Japanese aesthetic sometimes described as one of “flawed beauty”, appreciating beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete" in nature. I don’t follow the strict rules of composition, but compose images in a manner that “feels good” and enhances the emotions in the image.
I present my images to the viewer to interact with based on their life experiences and emotions. Be it a series of images telling a story or an isolated single image, my goal is not to force my story onto the viewer, but to provide a catalyst to allow them to respond in a manner based on their personal emotions and life experiences.
I don’t analyze the emotions in my work, I let them out to breath. The images come from the inner fog of my life experiences as a response to subjects, pictures or objects I encounter in my day-to-day life.
So, I appreciate your time to view my work. Love it or hate it, either is great.
I thank you."
Barriers Collection:
"The concept behind this series is the perception of “Barriers” I was out working on capturing images, but due to different physical barriers between me and my intended subject, I was unable to capture the desired image. I then realized that sometimes the barrier is more the subject than whats on the other side. And upon more reflection, I thought of how many “Barriers” or obstacles we encounter in our day to day life. So, in this series, I focused on barriers and obstacles encountered in my day to day life. David"
