The Dionne Quintuplets Timeline (1934–2025) | The Five Sisters Who Made History

Born on May 28, 1934, near Corbeil, Ontario, Yvonne, Annette, Cécile, Émilie and Marie Dionne became the first known quintuplets to survive infancy - and the only recorded set of identical quintuplets. Their remarkable birth quickly turned the five sisters into an international phenomenon.
But worldwide fame came at an enormous personal cost.
While still very young, the sisters were placed under the guardianship of the Ontario government and raised for years in a specially constructed facility that became known as Quintland. Millions of visitors came to see them, while their names and images appeared in advertising, films and merchandise.
As adults, the Dionne sisters spoke openly about the consequences of growing up under extraordinary public scrutiny and later sought compensation from the Ontario government for their treatment.
Their lives eventually followed very different paths. Émilie died in 1954, Marie in 1970, Yvonne in 2001, while Cécile and Annette lived into their nineties. Annette, the final surviving Dionne quintuplet, died on December 24, 2025, closing a remarkable 91-year chapter of Canadian history.
In this video, follow the complete chronology of the Dionne Quintuplets from 1934 to 2025 - five sisters whose birth made history and whose extraordinary lives became an unforgettable story of family, fame and legacy.
