A New Beginning for Rescued Elephant Nam Waan To Meet Her Old Friend - ElephantNews

Nam Waan is a 45-year-old female elephant who spent most of her life working in street begging, elephant riding, and the entertainment industry. Over the years, she developed several health issues, including an abscess on her cheek, a fungal infection on her feet, and a congenital bone deformity in her left leg.

Facing financial difficulties, her former owner wanted a better life for Nam Waan—one free from the burden of work—and reached out to us for help. Our founder, Lek, made the decision to rescue Nam Waan and bring her to our sanctuary, where she can finally live in safety, be cared for with love, and enjoy the peaceful retirement she so deeply deserves.
