Simeon Nikolov | 300IQ Volleyball Setter | Crazy Attacks | Amazing Sets. How do you defend a setter who can turn the next touch into a perfect set, a surprise attack, or a point from the service line?
Meet Simeon “Moni” Nikolov, Bulgaria’s 208 cm setter. At just 19 years old, he already plays with remarkable confidence and imagination. His quick decisions keep blockers guessing, while his height gives him the chance to attack and block like few setters can. Watch how he changes the tempo of a rally, disguises his intentions, and finds an attacker at exactly the right moment.
Volleyball runs in the Nikolov family. His father, Vladimir, represented Bulgaria, and his older brother Aleksandar is one of the national team’s leading attackers. Together, the brothers helped Bulgaria reach the final of the 2025 Men’s World Championship and take home silver. Simeon also starred at Long Beach State, where he won the 2025 national collegiate championship and was named AVCA National Collegiate Player of the Year.
And his game keeps growing. In Bulgaria’s 2026 Volleyball Nations League win over Italy, Nikolov helped five teammates reach double figures and scored nine points himself, including three aces and five attacks. He is the playmaker who can create the point—or finish it.
