"I call this roll of 36 “Sidewalk Moments.” It’s a collection of candid street photography I’ve done while exploring the streets of Nice the past four months. Most of the images were taken close to my subjects to illustrate the intimacy of the city’s walkways, its denizens and their interactions."

Dean Forbes is a longtime American photographer and retired communications professional who relocated to Nice, France in May 2025. He has photographed a variety of genres in his 60 years behind the lens but most recently settled on a continuation of the street photography he did in the US. Dean has been inspired by the vibrant street life in French towns and cities of all sizes. He says people watching in his new home is “epic.”
