At CiviliansUncut, we provide strictly educational, news-oriented breakdowns of viral stories. We are inspired by the investigative work of creators like @ThatDaneshGuy, @TizzyEnt, @Exposed&Fired and @PFthereckoning.
In this detailed update, our team examines the viral evidence and resulting criminal charges against Chad Michael Watts, a 45-year-old man who allegedly launched an unprovoked physical assault on minor high school students
On February 2, 2026, in Buda, Texas, 45-year-old Chad Michael Watts assaulted a female student during a lawful protest against ICE. After mocking the students from his truck, Watts physically attacked the minor, dragging her into a ditch and striking her. Following public outcry and viral footage, Watts was arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily injury.
There's a specific kind of unhinged that involves a 45-year-old man
deciding a group of teenagers is a threat to his world.
But apparently, Chad Michael Watts didn't get the memo
that attacking children is generally a bad career move.
It started on Monday, February 2, 2026 in Buda, Texas.
While students were participating in a lawful walkout to protest ICE,
Watts was sitting in his truck at a red light.
Instead of just ignoring the kids and going on with his day,
he rolled down his window and began mocking them, trying to get a rise out of them.
But apparently, Watts didn't like the comebacks of one of the female students.
And instead of driving away like a rational adult,
he chose to get out of his vehicle in the middle of traffic.
Unfortunately, I can't upload the video because of YouTube policies.
Witnesses and viral video clips show Watts
allegedly grabbing the student's hair and grappling with her
as she fell into the drainage ditch.
He didn't just stop there.
Reports state he struck the minor multiple times
including a blow to the throat.
It took nearly a dozen other students rushing in and swarming Watts
to finally pull him off the girl and force him back toward his vehicle.
While Watts managed to retreat to his truck and drive away before officers arrived,
the damage, both to the student and his own future, was already done.
Police were able to find him a few blocks away where they interviewed him,
but they released him, stating they didn't personally witness the assault.
And unfortunately, what we saw in Buda isn't an isolated incident.
It's part of a sickening trend popping up all across the USA.
We're seeing a wave of grown men deciding
that they are the self-appointed enforcers of political viewpoints,
often targeting children who can't defend themselves.
Take what happened just days later on February 5, 2026, in Marysville, Washington.
Another student walkout ended abruptly after a 55-year-old man
allegedly confronted protesters and threatened to shoot them,
shouting that they should be in school.
It's a recurring theme.
Adults abandoning all restraint to physically or verbally assault
minors over their right to assemble.
But for this story, as that footage started circulating
and every major outlet began asking questions,
the Buda Police Department magically found the probable cause they needed.
By Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2026,
they had a warrant and hauled Watts off to the Hays County Jail.
Now he's facing the music for his actions.
He has been charged with two counts of assault causing bodily injury,
which are Class A misdemeanors.
Buda PD also stated that he was the primary aggressor,
so it's just a matter of time before he faces potential jail time.
Watts thought he was correcting students he didn't like,
but now the legal system is about to correct him.
