AI GeneratedThe video features a showcase of young inventors presenting their creative solutions to everyday problems, followed by a high-stakes memory game segment called \"Harvey's Hundreds\" where a guest competes for a cash prize.
Today, we've rounded up some of our brightest young minds
to showcase their inventions today.
So, please welcome our first inventor.
Welcome, Emily.
Hi, Emily.
Hi.
How are you?
Good.
Nice to meet you.
So, how old are you?
Seven.
What's your invention?
It's a blackberry picker.
It's used to pick other high up things.
Oh, blackberry picker.
Yeah, not the full blackberry.
The ones you eat the fruits.
How did you come up with this invention?
What made you decide to make a black blackberry picker?
My mom always gets stuck in the blackberry bush.
Mama gets stuck in the blackberry bush.
With the bees and cicadas.
With the what?
The bees and cicadas.
With the bees and cicadas.
Look up there.
To me, using my blackberry picker, that really works.
Okay, so show us how it works.
Oh, I'm gonna pick a lemon.
Maybe you can help.
Oh, you're gonna pick a lemon.
Maybe you can help me with the tree.
Okay, which one?
You want me to hold this still for you?
I just, they're kind of thick.
That's pretty good.
Thank you, Emily.
Well, folks, our next inventor won the top prize
in the environmental category at the Invention Convention.
Please welcome 11-year-old Anna.
It's Anna.
Anna, how are you?
Good.
Welcome to the show.
So, what did you make?
I made the ocean pollution solution.
Ocean pollution solution.
So, what exactly did you invent?
I made water dissolvable plastic bags
and water dissolvable soda rings.
Really?
Yeah.
So, how did you make a bag, though?
What's it made out of?
I used a sewing base, and then I cut it
into the shape of the bag and cut the handles.
So, this is made out of what now?
A sewing base.
Sewing?
Base.
How does it work?
Show me how it works.
Well, when a bag flies into the ocean
and gets left at the ocean,
it just goes in the water and it will start to dissolve.
For a normal bag, it takes 1,000 years,
but for my bags, it takes like a couple minutes.
Really?
That's pretty good.
Oh, I see it.
It's really dissolvable.
But you know what?
I think this will do really well in marine stores
and marinas and everything,
because that's the big problem,
because when I'm out on my annual trip every year,
I see stuff in the water, and it's horrible,
because plastic does take a long time to break down.
And look, she just put that bag in there
and look at it already.
That's pretty good, Anna.
Congratulations.
Our final inventor here, everybody,
is to help everybody who has allergies.
Please welcome Yusef.
Yusef, how you doing, man?
I'm doing good.
Good, so what'd you come up with?
I came up with an allergy nose sling.
How did you make it?
I originally made it out of toilet paper and some tape,
but I made some improvements to it.
Oh, you started with toilet paper.
So tell me about it.
So how does it work?
Well, you wrap it.
Well, instead, I decided to use some string
so it can hold on for much longer.
And instead of toilet paper, I decided to use some gauze
so it can absorb the snot faster.
Oh, actually, I did make a special one for you.
Oh, okay.
It's to protect your mustache.
Okay, but what is this part right here?
Oh, this is some plastic to protect your mustache
so no snot would get on it.
Yusef, do you stutter sometime when you talk?
Yes.
You know, I used to stutter really bad.
I had a severe stuttering problem when I was growing up.
I couldn't talk anywhere in public.
I could show you how to stutter.
That would be nice.
Yeah?
I need two hours with you.
Two hours, you won't ever stutter again.
Okay.
And when you stop stuttering, I'ma put this on.
Okay.
That's the deal.
Oh, my man, for real, I'ma do that.
Hey, Yusef, thank you, man.
That's a great idea.
Let's play Harvey's Hundreds.
I'm looking for Jacqueline Clayton.
Where you from?
I came out here.
This is my first time out here.
My son moved out here five months ago.
I'm from Philadelphia.
Philly.
I had to come out here to see where my son was living.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, he doing good, though.
And I definitely had to meet you.
Yeah, you from Philly.
That's 105.3 WDAS.
You got it, this is for you every morning.
Sounds like Philly to me, baby.
There you go.
Yeah.
You wanna win yourself some money?
Yes.
Since you here, might as well win $1,000.
Come on, let's try what you gonna do.
I'ma put 20 pictures up on the board.
You're gonna have 60 seconds to match
as many of these together as you can.
Every time you match one, I'ma give you 100 bucks.
If you match all 10 of these in 60 seconds,
you're gonna walk out of here with $1,000.
All right.
So now, we're gonna flip them over.
Now we're gonna scramble them up.
Now this is the way it works, sweetie.
I want you to call out two numbers.
As soon as you call out two numbers,
we're gonna flip them over.
If they match, I'ma give you 100.
If they don't, very quickly,
call out two more numbers.
Flip them over.
Remember where they are,
cause you can go back and match them.
Every time you match them, we're gonna give you $100.
Okay.
All right.
All right, so come on baby, let's go.
The clock will start after your first two numbers.
Five, nine.
Go.
10, 15.
One, eight.
Six, seven.
Two, seven, 10.
Eight, 19.
18, 19.
Oh, 23.
Four, eight.
Four, 20.
Come on.
Six, eight.
One, one.
Two, eight.
17, 15.
Two, three.
Come on.
15.
11, 15.
11, one.
14.
16, 14.
16, 15.
Come on, let's go.
Come on.
14.
Girl, you just won yourself $1,000.
How about you, you know what I like about you?
You do not fold under pressure.
Thanks for playing, Jacqueline.
