One fall at work took EVERYTHING from this man

I got an anonymous message about this house from someone letting me know the yard had gotten really overgrown. They told me the homeowner had been dealing with a serious back injury, had been on medical leave from work, and hadn't been able to touch his yard at all this year. So I went over and knocked on the door, and I ended up talking with him for quite a while. He's actually had a few back injuries over the years, all of them on the job. The first one he fell 26 feet out of an attic onto concrete back in his 20s, and he told me he just rubbed some dirt on it, took a couple weeks off, and went right back to work. But the most recent one was about six years ago when he was 22 feet up on a ladder working on a roll up door, and that door kicked back on him, knocked him off, and he landed on a forklift. His back is really messed up now and he can barely walk. Surgery is an option, but from what his doctor told him, even if everything goes perfectly, it's maybe a 40 percent chance of feeling a little better, and it's not guaranteed. He can barely move without extreme pain, and he told me he doesn't really sleep anymore, he just calls it resting. On top of all that, he lost his mom four years ago and his dad two years ago so I knew this was one I had to get looking amazing. Most of this one was volunteer trees. There were so many of them that had grown up all over the property, so I spent the day cutting them down and hauling them off, and I think I took three entire loads to the dump. I worked from sun up to sun down getting all of that cleared out, everything mowed down, and the whole place opened back up again. And while we were talking off camera, he mentioned all the repairs he's got on the house that he just can't afford right now, including a leaky roof, gutters falling off, and a garage door that got destroyed by a branch. He’s barely getting by on his disability and can’t work anymore so I decided to start a GoFundMe for him to try to fix all of these issues.
