Wang Yidi vs Li Yu-Jhun | WS QF | #WTTAstana 2026

She's got to believe, firstly, that she can do damage to one of the world's best. She did really well there, she apologises. That'll make her feel a little bit better though. Look at that, and it melts everyone outside the top 10. So hard to deal with. Oh, that was a wonderful serve receive though. How on earth? Yeah, it might have been a top 8. Last week in Macau. She's regularly in the latter stages of these marquee WTT events. Changed pace really well on that one. Champions Chongqing semi-finalists, quarter-finalists in Singapore Smash. First one coming in Incheon and then the latter coming at Montpellier. Tell you what, Liu Jun has some serious power. Oh, it's just so good. The rally broke out and it was stinging back and forth. It's the second game getting underway here. Liu Jun played well in that opener. She did find herself, what, 5-1 down? She plays with a lot of power, you can see. Coming up next as well, Alexi Lebrun against Yoshiyama. Oh, it's just too good from Wang Yidi. That is Wang Yidi at her best. She just bounces back. Six unanswered points now. Does everything really, really well. She does that really well though. She hunts the hook. You just get forced fighting. Reminder, awaiting the winner of this one, Hitomi Sato. One of the best defenders on planet Earth. Could be a lot of fun, her versus Wang Yidi. Yidi responds really well. She put the shield up. Got put under pressure with that opening forehand, but rolled it back in. And Wang Yidi, like she did there with a heavy push. She might be able to force her back. Oh, it's a magical rally in the world. But she's exceeded that so far this week in Asana. But Wang Yidi, she's so often done well. She has been able to excel in those fast exchanges. Put the net there. There you go. Right on cue. Love that from Wang Yidi. It's a slightly slower, shallower ball. Just stepped in on it. Tell you what, she's 28 years of age. She's been as high as 47 in the world. But she's definitely playing above that right now. You still got to get it done. And she is coming under fire from Lee. Like those exchanges, she's having to whip the back out. When you think of Sato's recent performances. Caught the net, which is why she apologized. Oh, it's a world-class rally to finish it off. Wang Yidi, number one seed here in Asana. Punches her ticket into the semifinal.
