Fatal crash on State Route 4 affecting traffic in Contra Costa County

A fatal accident on Highway 4 westbound, east of Port Chicago Highway, has caused significant traffic congestion. Two lanes are currently blocked, leading to a major logjam starting at the Port Chicago Highway entrance. Contra Costa Fire and CHP are on-site conducting an investigation, and there is currently no estimated time for the lanes to reopen.
