A Pride of Lions During Mealtime

When a pride makes a kill, the lions will typically eat together, and it's not uncommon for some competition or conflict to arise during mealtime. However, whether or not lions fight during mealtime depends on a number of factors.

In general, larger prides with more individuals may experience more competition and fighting during feeding, especially if the kill is small or if there are many mouths to feed. In contrast, smaller prides or lone lions may have less competition and conflict during feeding.

Additionally, the behaviour of individual lions can also play a role in how much fighting occurs during mealtime. Some lions may be more aggressive or dominant than others, which can lead to conflicts over food. However, other lions may be more submissive and willing to wait their turn to eat.
