Scientists SHOCKED After the World’s Most Feared Volcano Suddenly Roars Back to Life

Anak Krakatau has roared back to life.

On September 4, 2026, the volcano sent ash nearly 50,000 feet into the atmosphere, disrupting hundreds of flights and forcing airports across Indonesia to close. Scientists also recorded continuous volcanic tremor, rising thermal activity and strong sulfur dioxide emissions beneath the island.

But the biggest concern is not only the eruption itself. Anak Krakatau has a history of catastrophic slope collapse. In 2018, part of the volcano fell into the sea and generated a deadly tsunami without a major warning earthquake. Today, scientists are closely monitoring the rebuilding cone for changes in magma movement, gas emissions and slope stability.
