Adolf Eberle’s Paintings of German Peasant Life

Adolf Eberle (1843 – 1914) was a German painter from Munich, where his father was also a painter. Eberle started out painting soldier scenes from the Thirty Years’ War and the Seven Years’ War, but soon changed direction to focus on Bavarian and Tyrolean peasant life, particularly farmers and huntsmen. Eberle died in Munich in 1914. In 1952 Eberlestraße in the Solln neighbourhood of Munich was named after him.
