Cinnamon Rolls Recipe 🤎
Ingredients
For the dough:
• 370 g all-purpose flour
• 170 ml lukewarm milk
• 30 g melted butter
• 1 egg, at room temperature
• 9 g dry yeast
• 40 g sugar
• 1 tsp salt
For the filling:
• 130 g brown sugar
• 50 g softened butter, slightly warm
• 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp vanilla flavoring
For the cream cheese frosting:
• 100 g cream cheese
• 30 g butter, at room temperature
• 100 g powdered sugar
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the dough
In a small bowl, combine the lukewarm milk, 1 teaspoon of the sugar and the dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Add the melted butter, the remaining sugar and the egg to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
Gradually add the flour mixture, a little at a time, and knead until you have a smooth, soft dough that is no longer sticky. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as needed.
Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl. Cover it with a clean kitchen towel and leave it in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
2. Prepare the filling
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla flavoring. Mix well and set aside.
3. Shape the cinnamon rolls
Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough into a large rectangle, approximately 40–45 cm long.
Spread the softened butter evenly over the entire surface of the dough.
Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter and gently spread it with your hands to cover the entire surface.
Lightly grease your baking pan.
Starting from the long side of the rectangle, tightly roll the dough into a log.
Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place the rolls in the prepared pan.
Lightly brush the tops with a little melted butter.
Cover the pan with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
4. Bake
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the cinnamon rolls for approximately 20 minutes, or until lightly golden on top.
5. Prepare the cream cheese frosting
In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix until creamy and well combined.
Gradually add the milk and mix until you reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.
Drizzle or spread the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls.
Serve warm and enjoy! 🤎
