This video demonstrates the full process of creating a floral bouquet illustration from start to finish. After the ink details are set, we move into watercolor painting to bring the arrangement to life.

Hello everyone and welcome to my channel and welcome to this video. Today we will be inking
and painting this gorgeous floral bouquet. But before we get to that, if you do like
inking and painting flowers, I do want to let you know that I'm running a huge sale
on my Inktober collection that I did a couple of years ago. All floral collection, 30 different
flowers done with ink and watercolors and all the sketches are also provided. So the collection
is now at 30% off and I will put the link in the description box if you would like to check it out.
However, this video in full length real-time tutorial is also available on my Patreon. So
if you join my Patreon you will gain the access to the entire Inktober collection and also to
this video. To paint this one I did use Centenaire watercolor paper. This is cold press, 100% cotton,
300 gsm or 140 pounds, 23 by 31 centimeters or 9 by 12 and 1 eighth of an inch. I also did use this
Micron pigma 05 ink pen. It is archival and waterproof. So because I'm adding watercolors
on top of my ink, I do need a waterproof ink. So make sure that your ink can stand water. For the
watercolors I used this Paul Rubens floral set and for the colors I used some Indian yellow, Chinese
red, rose red. I also did use indigo, French ultramarine. I used olive green, some hookers green,
cypress brown deep and I also used this burnt brown. For the brushes I used this Raphael No. 22
flat brush to do the background and also did use this Raphael No. 0 quill brush,
Raphael No. 8 round brush and this no name detail brush to add in a little bit of the
white paint and I did use this Art Creation all-purpose white paint. So you can use white
acrylic, white gel pen also, white gouache, whatever you have available you can use. So guys without
the further ado, let's get to it. So I'm first doing the inking and I already did trace my sketch
onto the watercolor paper and sketch is also available for download for free. If you join my
Patreon for free you will gain the access to this sketch so I'll put the link in the description box
if you would like it. And just first going on top of the lines that I already drew, just basic
and when I finished with those basic lines I just want to remove the graphite from tracing my paper
so I'm using this kneaded eraser for that and then doing a little bit more of the embellishments
and a little bit more of the details, just adding some more ink, making some lines a little bit
thicker and some parts a little bit thinner. I do also want to make parts of the lines a little bit
thicker to make it a little bit more stylized so how you're gonna ink your flowers just completely
up to you how you want to stylize it. So just adding some shades and veins onto the flowers
always minding the shape of the flowers to create those details having the shape in mind so these
petals are curved towards the outside and I do want to make that curve visible also with my ink
so I'm curving the lines adding some little stamens again thickening some parts of the lines
and adding some shading quite simple actually but you can see how just a little bit of the ink
it just makes it all the difference. Also I do want to add in the center or just do the details
in the center of the flowers with scribbles finish off the last flower its petals and some
more stylizing shading adding some veins and also adding some dots and lines because I can you know
why not make it a little bit whimsical and when I finished with my inking I'm moving on to the
watercolors first I did wet the entire paper and now just with the indian yellow I'm adding a little
bit of the paint to my first flower and also a couple of splatters I do want them to bleed and
blend into the background some indigo and some burnt brown to create a little bit of the grayish
tone and I'm also gonna paint in the flowers with that grayish a little bit more of the indian yellow
and some cypress brown for the central part of the part near to the center I do want to make that
part a little bit darker so with some chinese red and red rose I'm painting in the poppy
my second flower again just adding a little bit more of the paint at the bottom of the petals
or I do want to have it a little bit darker shade and some more splatters of course why not
third flower painted again using indian yellow and some red rose and for the fourth some chinese
red and indian yellow to create this orangey tone just painting it in the same way tops of the petals
I do want to keep lighter and the central part darker same thing here on this bud near to the
center I want to keep it a little bit darker and further away lighter painting in this foliage with
some olive green and also with hooker's green brilliant some more splatters with green and then
just I did dry this completely and now I'm gonna add a little bit more of the contrast and a little
bit more of the details with the colors that I already did use so just adding a bit more of the
red and then smoothing and softening with just the clean water in my brush so I did not prevent
the paper but I'm just adding red to the center and then just with the clean water spreading that
paint around adding a little bit of the brown same thing again for the second flower I've added a
little bit more pigment near to the center and then just with the water smoothening that same
thing for the third flower painting in the centers using some orange indian yellow mixed in
with chinese red and then some brown for the contrast in the center mixing in some more of
the burnt brown and indigo adding touches again to the central part a little bit of the pink
and some more splatters to finish it off when I was done I did want to add a little bit more of
the ink because it was covered with the watercolors partially so I'm just adding a bit more in couple
of inking couple of spots where I do want to make it a little bit more visible this option this is
completely optional step depending on how your painting looks and a little bit more of the white
all-purpose paint to add in some highlights here and there onto my flowers the centers of the flowers
just a little bit more of the details and with that we are done so guys thank you so much for
