But Inter hit back in the second half, with captain Lautaro scoring twice to level the game. His first goal, a left-footed finish from a Thuram assist, came early in the half, while his second arrived late on, as he pounced on a scramble in the box with his right foot.
Inter and Roma remain level at the top of the table with 13 points.
